B180's 2019 Art-in-Review

Read on to see some of our 2019 highlights. We'd love to hear about your highlights too! Feel free to respond to this email and be sure to follow us on instagram @building180.

What we're most proud of is building a community of incredibly talented artists, friends and collaborators. Like you! Thank you for all of your support.

Best wishes and Happy New Year,

SFCC + Meow Wolf: Santa Fe, NM

Ethyl is introduced at the Santa Fe Community College on Earth Day, 2019

Meow Wolf acquired Ethyl in 2019 where she was moved from San Francisco, CA to Santa Fe, NM. The sculpture, created by artists Joel Dean Stockdill and Yustina Salnikova in collaboration with the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Hub San Francisco, produced by Building 180 is currently installed at the Santa Fe Community College. We couldn't be more excited to have this important work in the hands of an organization we so admire.

BLINK: Cincinnati, OH

The Rainbow Bridge under the Roebling Bride in Cincinnati, OH for BLINK 2019

The Rainbow Bridge by Looking Up Arts Foundation made its way to Cincinnati, OH as part of BLINK, a public light art-based festival in October. Cincinnati and neighboring Covington, KY hosted dozens of art installations over a 3-day event. Building 180 was thrilled to lead the team on the ground and experience this incredible event. A huge thanks to our partners at The Cincinnati Chamber, Agar, Brave Berlin, Artswave and the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Hail Jr. Foundation.

Burning Man: Black Rock City, NV

This year we were fortunate to get back to our roots and build with some amazing artists on playa. Shannon worked with Tyson Ayers on The Shrine of Sympathetic Resonance (pictured left). Meredith worked with Matt Schultz and the Pier Group on Head Maze (pictured right).

We already have a lot on the horizon for 2020. We'll be kicking off the new year in Las Vegas, installing custom work by HYBYCOZO at Area 15, decking out Twitch's offices in San Francisco and Seattle and revamping our efforts to install Pier Into The Past, a public art installation for Pier 3 in San Francisco with Hornblower Cruises & Events and artist Katy Boynton, which utilizes over 25 tons of metal from the decommissioned Bay Bridge.

Oh! And remember to take care of yourself and each other.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
