LUCKY DAY

Lucky Day is a bar and venue located in downtown Las Vegas, NV. Building 180 worked with the Las Vegas-based company Corner Bar Management to develop and install a custom interior design plan filled with unique features.

Building 180 was challenged to make the cozy, 3,000 square foot Tequila and Mezcal House eclectic and bizarre. The most striking feature of the space is its custom light-filled ceiling, which was created using over 15,000 bespoke LED lights. Designed to look like a haphazard mess of Christmas lights, Building 180 worked with artist Keegan Olton to install the programmed light display. Each light is mapped in 3D space allowing for custom content to play across the lights.

At the back of the space, Building 180 installed a shrine wall filled with eclectic pieces sourced from Mexico City, thrift stores and garage sales. They also filled the bar with artifacts and odds and ends to make the space feel lived in.

The DJ booth was created by a church pulpit maker and dons custom neon created by bender Roxy Rose. Rose also created various other neon elements for the exterior and interior.

Lastly, Building 180 worked with textile artist Lish Dawn to create a rope partition at the bar’s entrance, which serves as a divider for those entering and exiting the building.

The space was completely gutted at the onset of the project, which required Building 180 to work closely with the construction team, electricians, designers, fire marshalls, the permitting office and of course, the artists, to ensure a successful installation.
